How to add emoticons to your blog

http://www.emocutez.com
Blogging is nice, but blogging with emoticons is better!! http://www.emocutez.com
So how do you insert some cool emoticons within your posts?? http://www.emocutez.com
Well the answer is super easy! http://www.emocutez.com

Method 1 (recommended):

There are websites that give you automatically the html code to run emoticons such as the great:

Other websites have more conventional smileys:

http://emoticons4u.com/

Click on the emoticon you want, a popup window will appear giving you the html line that you just need to insert on your post, at the place where you want your emoticon to appear.

And VOILA!!

Method 2 (not recommended):

You can also do it with one tiny line of code. I evidently did not invent this myself, but I found it there http://mltan100.blogspot.com/2008/02/use-emoticon-on-blogger-blog.html.

Here is how you do it:
  • Log onto your blog
  • Click on "Design"
  • Edit template as html
  • Search for the line containing </head>
  • Add right before the </head> line, this line :
<script src="http://mltan100.googlepages.com/emoticons.js" type="text/javascript"/>

Here you go!! All done!  http://www.emocutez.com

However here is why I do not recommend this method.
It slows down the page opening tremendously and the script is apparently buggy as each time when the page loads, a pop-up window asks you to accept and continue running the script. I personally think the hassle is not worth the gain and so I do not use this method.

Have fun!!! http://www.emocutez.com
